➡  How did you get on with the ABC workouts I shared last week?

If you missed them – tap here

Today, I just wanted to give you a heads that I am now out the office until Monday 18th August.

I have a fabulous week of relaxing and sunning myself in Tenerife lined up.

Followed by 2 days of ‘not so much relaxing’ taking on the Cuillins Ridge Traverse and climbing 22 mountains in 2 days on the Isle of Skye.

To be honest, it’s not the 11 mountains a day that scares me.

It’s my fear of heights and length of time I’ll have to endure massive exposure and sheer drops accompanied by technical climbing on beautiful beasts such as the Inaccessible Pinnacle.

➡  But Lee, you climbed Everest – do you still have a fear of heights?

Ehhh YEAH! lol.

Just because you face your fear, it doesn’t mean it goes away.

Buuuuut…

It definitely makes it a little easier each time.

Facing your fear enables you to learn, build mental strength and grow thus enabling you to embrace that fear much more confidently.

Which is why I’m so obsessed with doing things that push me outside my comfort zone.

➡  OK Lee, so HOW exactly do you prepare for things such as Everest, the Cuillins and K2?

1. Visualisation

Thinking about what it will be like.

How I will mentally and physically feel.

This allows me to prepare and control my body’s response such as breathing, keeping calm and conserving energy and focus.

2. Positive Self-Talk

Positive self-talk turns into self belief which then becomes an unstoppable driving force.

Because whether you think you can or can’t, you’ll be right either way.

3. End Goal Focus

When I went from beginner to Everest in a year my motto was…

If I can’t do X, Y or Z then I can’t do Everest.

That simple mindset shift enabled me to achieve things I never knew possible.

So here we go again…

If I can’t do X, Y or Z then I can’t do K2.

4. Back My Chat

Here’s what I mean:

These 4 things can be applied to ANY goal.

For Example:

WEIGHTLOSS

1.Think about how you’ll FEEL and what your life will LOOK like once you get to where you want to be. Use that as motivation to keep showing up for yourself each day.

2. Build yourself UP instead of beating your DOWN.

Once you learn to do this, you’ll instantly and significantly boost your mood, mental health and productivity.

3. If you CAN’T be bothered to put in the work and focus on the basics such as getting your steps in, keeping hydrated, planning your meals and making better food choices, then you’ll never achieve your weightloss goals.

4. Learning to back your chat is an absolute GAME CHANGER!!

Start now, thank yourself later.
